2025 POINTS SYSTEM CHANGE

Points system for 2025:

From 2017 through the 2024 season we have used a “best of certain amount of races” or “drop of so many of your worst races” in order to help racers out who may have to miss a race or have bad finishes, etc.

After speaking with several promoters that we know we came together and came up with this idea. In 2025 we will be changing our previous system to something that we believe will work better for our series.

As normal, a racer must race 75%/ 14 races of the series races in order to qualify for end of season banquet awards.

Pro ATV, Pro-Am ATV and Open MC racers must race 85% of series/15 races for end of year class payout.

The last four races of the season will be considered “bonus/ replacement rounds” within the series.

What does that mean?

1. All of the first 14 races will count for everyone whether they make them, have a mechanical issue, bad finish, etc.

2. The final four races will give each racer the opportunity depending on how many of the last four they race the chance to replace a bad score from the first 14 races whether that’s from not being able to show up to a race for any reason, a mechanical failure that results in a DNS or DNF, or just the chance to replace a bad finish.

3. This gives the racer the opportunity for the following with the given scenarios:

If you race round 15, you can replace a single one of your lowest previous rounds, if you race round 16 as well you can replace two rounds, if you race round 17 as well you can replace the score of three rounds, if you race all 18 rounds, then you will be able to replace your 4 worst scores if they are better.

This also will make a racer have to play defense and race in terms of their points as well instead of taking points away after dropping so many rounds for each racer.

We feel this will be a better system because it does not give out a participation trophy, rather it makes you race for each position while helping you as well if you have something come up such as, a mechanical failure, sickness, vacation, etc.

Missing one race will not put you out of the championship this way just as our previous system would not. You have the opportunity to make points up and also defend where you were at if you are ahead in points.  This will give each and every racer as many points as possible that they race for.

A DQ/disqualification will have zero points awarded and will be unable to be replaced.

We’re always trying to improve this series for you and believe that most will like and benefit from this system more for your hard work.
